FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2026 Night of the Stars Finalists & First Winners Announced
Industrial developer Bart Brynestad to be inducted into the CREDAWA commercial real estate development hall of fame on October 30 at the Hyatt Regency Seattle.
SEATTLE—Announced this morning at its annual developer forecast breakfast meeting, the finalists for the CREDA Washington State (formerly NAIOP) 2026 Night of the Stars awards illustrate the continued innovation, resilience, and flight to quality of commercial development in the state of Washington.
The organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a CREDA chapter, having been founded in 1976 as the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Industrial Parks. CREDAWA has since evolved alongside the region into a wide-reaching, diverse CRE networking and advocacy association driving economic growth in Seattle, the Eastside, South Sound, and Inland Northwest. Earlier this year, the organization underwent a rebrand to the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, a new name that better reflects its diverse and continually expanding membership.
CREDAWA will also induct industrial developer Bart Brynestad into its Hall of Fame at the black-tie festivities. Brynestad first joined the commercial real estate association over 30 years ago in 1995. He was instrumental in establishing the South Sound committee for the industry group, eventually served as president of the chapter in 2005, and has continued to serve in leadership roles within the organization before his recent retirement from Panattoni Development Company at the end of 2025. Perhaps best known for his pioneering work in the Frederickson area, Brynestad’s list of accomplishments in industrial development are complemented by his continued mentorship of up-and-coming CRE professionals.
This year’s finalists echo wider market trends from the Puget Sound region through Spokane Valley, including outstanding apartment developments, both affordable and market-rate, addressing the ongoing nationwide housing shortage; Class-A office product making headlines throughout the Seattle metro area; and several industrial properties bringing family-wage jobs and tax revenue to local communities.
The first two winners for 2026 are the Belroy Apartments, Historic Renovation of the Year, and Signal Point Apartment Homes, Garden Style Multifamily Development of the Year. These two developments were among a dozen housing projects that made the shortlist for this year’s awards.
Additionally, CBRE’s Jennifer Seversen was announced as the Retail Broker of the Year by Commercial Broker Association’s President and CEO Mary Hull-Drury. A thirty-year retail leasing industry veteran, Seversen has built a reputation for transforming complex developments into market successes.
Notable community-centric projects in the finalist list, among dozens more, include:
- 1075 Lenora Lofts, an office-to-residential conversion that delivered 44 apartment homes in South Lake Union;
- DSA/MID Office at 2nd & Pine, a combined headquarters near Pike Place Market for two prominent community organizations in downtown Seattle;
- Elliott Bay Connections, a public-private partnership funded entirely by private philanthropy that revitalizes the public parks along the Elliott Bay waterfront;
- and Thunderbird Treatment Center, a 92-bed inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility developed by the Seattle Indian Health Board.
Winners will be announced on Friday, October 30, at the Night of the Stars awards ceremony and gala at the Hyatt Regency Seattle. Learn more about attending the 2026 Night of the Stars here.
The finalists’ gallery for this year is live on CREDAWA’s awards website, where the commercial real estate community may cast daily votes for the People’s Choice award. Voting will continue on the gallery website through October 1. CREDAWA members, supporters, project team members, and the broader CRE industry can vote for one project per day that they feel represents the best-in-class in CRE for our state.

About Night of the Stars
Arguably the most anticipated industry event of the year, Night of the Stars is a black-tie dinner and gala awards ceremony recognizing local real estate projects and companies for their impact on the community, market adaptability, ingenuity, and local contributions. Night of the Stars seeks to provide recognition for members of the entire project team and include them all in the annual celebration of the industry.
The Night of the Stars Awards Program is a two-step nomination process. From June 1 to mid-July, CREDAWA solicits project and firm nominations online. Nominees have the opportunity to make a presentation to a panel of judges in mid-September. Finalists are announced at the September Breakfast, and winners in each category are presented during the Night of the Stars gala.
About the CREDA Washington State Hall of Fame
Established in 1995, the CREDAWA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose leadership, vision, and contributions have helped shape Washington’s commercial real estate industry and the communities in which we live and work. The Hall of Fame honors those whose professional accomplishments and influence have left a lasting mark on the built environment, advanced the industry, and contributed to the growth and vitality of our region.
Nominees may be recognized for a wide range of achievements, including innovation, development, industry leadership, mentorship, philanthropy, civic engagement, and service to commercial real estate organizations. While involvement with our association is valued, it is considered alongside a nominee’s broader contributions to the commercial real estate community and the positive impact they have made throughout their career.
The Hall of Fame is intended to celebrate individuals whose body of work reflects excellence, integrity, and a commitment to advancing the commercial real estate industry in Washington State.
