Rico Quirindongo, Director of the Office of Planning and Community Development, City of Seattle [Moderator]
Rico Quirindongo is the Director of Seattle's Planning Office. He was a founder of the NOMA Northwest Chapter, served on the AIA+2030 national steering committee, and chaired Seattle's Pike Place Market PDA Council. AIA recognized him as a Citizen Architect. AIA Washington Council awarded him the Jennie Sue Brown Lifetime Achievement Award. He received the UW College of the Built Environment Architecture Distinguished Alumni Award and was named one of Seattle’s Most Influential by Seattle Magazine.

Maria Barrientos has been named one of the most influential urban-infill developers in Seattle, a 2015 PSBJ Woman of Influence, and is categorized by her peers as innovative, thoughtful, and creative - creating housing that incorporates many forward-looking trends. Over the past 35 years, Maria has become a respected leader in Seattle’s real estate development community. Patrick directs development, capital relationships, and overall company strategy at Lake Union Partners. He is actively involved in entitlements, deal structuring, and project execution, with an interest in placemaking and building projects that strengthen neighborhoods. He is also focused on scaling the company’s next phase and is helping drive the growth of the Localis investment platform.

 Henry Watson, Director of Development, Urban Villages
Henry Watson is Director of Development at Urban Villages, where he oversees leasing, placemaking, and activations at RailSpur, the company's mixed-use development in the heart of Pioneer Square. He is widely recognized for his expertise in community-driven placemaking, having cultivated a dynamic mix of tenants and programming that has helped redefine Pioneer Square as one of Seattle's most vibrant destinations. Henry is deeply embedded in the neighborhood he works in, serving as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Pioneer Square and as a member of the Pioneer Square Historic Preservation Board.

Labour Temple: Originally opened in 1942 as the Seattle Labor Temple, 2800 1st Avenue served as home to Seattle’s union and trade organizations for nearly 80 years — the central gathering place for labor organizing and civic life in Belltown, and the last large functioning labor hall in a neighborhood that was once the center of union activity in the Pacific Northwest.
Designated a Seattle Landmark in 2010 and acquired by Seattle developers Chris and Angela Faul in 2020, the building underwent a deliberate, design-led renovation that honored its history while responding to the evolving needs of today’s workforce. In 2022, Labour Temple welcomed a new generation of tenants — the “U” in the name a nod to both the U-shaped building and its union roots — and now operates as a coworking community, event and meeting venue, and gathering place for Seattle’s modern professional.

BNBuilders Headquarters: Constructed in 1902 as a salmon processing warehouse for the Ainsworth & Dunn Company and later known as the beloved Spaghetti Factory, this 28,000-square-foot Seattle landmark is recognized for its historic and architectural significance. The completed renovation preserved the building’s defining features—including the brick exterior, first-floor heavy timber structural system, and the adjacent west-side site—while thoughtfully adapting the space for modern use.
The project maintained the original brick, timber, and car-decking structure, reinforcing the building’s industrial character. A new steel-framed communicating stair was installed to connect all three floors, featuring treads and landings crafted from salvaged timber sourced from the building itself. Interior improvements included the addition of two kitchenettes and a large third-floor kitchen to support contemporary occupancy. The existing west-side patio was activated through the installation of an overhead door, strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces while respecting the site’s landmarked status.
- Elliot Bay Connections (EBC): EBC is a public-private partnership to connect, restore, and revitalize public parks along the Elliott Bay waterfront from Waterfront Park (at Pier 62) to The Beach at Expedia Group (just before Pier 91). A new greenway connecting Waterfront Park to the Olympic Sculpture Park opened in April 2026, and construction of park improvements and plantings are underway in Myrtle Edwards and Centennial Parks, which reopened June 4, 2026. Together, these parks provide more than a mile of shoreline and 16 acres of open, public park space where people can stroll, bike, relax, and enjoy Elliott Bay.
